I was with a group of conference attendees in search of a meal after a late evening conference event. We walked up Mission in search of something better than pizza and the Flying Pig invited us in. Even though they were at the end of their day they made our group feel welcome. And the food was fantastic. My colleagues raved about their mac and cheese, their salads with fried chicken, their salads with salmon, the mussels, etc. I had a simple Caesar salad that was turned into something less simple by the incredible croutons they put on top. Those croutons were a bit of heaven. Soft yet crunchy and incredible flavorful. The staff were absolutely fabulous (I’m sorry I can’t call out anyone by name) and their wine list was also very good. I would definitely go back next time I’m in Oceanside.
